Themed Saturdays on the Farm Program
Join us once a month on Saturdays for a delightful day of learning and experiencing life on a homestead! Each month, we’ll explore a unique theme, offering hands-on activities, workshops, and plenty of fun for all ages. Whether you're interested in sustainable farming, foraging, cooking, or simply want to enjoy a day in the countryside, these events are perfect for you!
Upcoming Saturdays:
September 27, 2025: Farm, Foraging, and Creatures of the Forest – A full day of hands-on adventures at the farm. Children will explore the land, forage for natural materials, and use them to create habitats and shelters for the creatures of the forest: animals, gnomes and fairies, blending imagination with the natural world. Along the way, they’ll take part in farm-structure building workshops and spend time caring for the animals, gaining real homesteading skills. We’ll close the day by gathering for a special fairy/gnome tea party with homemade treats and teas prepared from the garden. With a balance of creativity, building, and farm life, every child will find something to inspire and enjoy. 3+
October 4, 2025: Fiber Arts & Crafts Workshop – Join us for a special day on the farm to explore the wonders of fiber arts and crafts! This immersive workshop invites children to connect with farm life while learning hands-on creative skills. 3+
October 25, 2025: Lantern Walk & Halloween Workshop – A cozy autumn day at the farm filled with creativity and seasonal traditions. Children will carve pumpkins, design and craft their own beautiful lanterns, and take part in hands-on preparations for Halloween. You may then join us for our yearly Lantern Walk at the end of October when we’ll light our lanterns and enjoy a magical walk together, celebrating the harvest season and the glow of our creations.
November 2025: Saturday Farm Cooking Workshop – Come spend a day at the farm and immerse in farm life and develop farm to table culinary skills! We will create various foods and dishes from scratch and delight in creating our own healthy, nutritious and delicious food together! 7+ (Exact day TBC!)
December 13th, 2025: Gingerbread Magic! Creating Gingerbread houses and people! Step into the sweetness of the season as we bake, build, and decorate our own gingerbread houses and people. Children will roll out dough, cut shapes, and bring their creations to life with colorful decorations. From tiny gingerbread folk to imaginative candy-covered cottages, everyone will get a chance to design something unique and delicious to take home and share.
Stay tuned for the announcement of future themed Saturdays. Don’t miss out on these unique opportunities to immerse yourself in the beauty and knowledge of homestead life!

Stony Hollow's Farm, Forest & Garden Program is a vibrant outdoor experience tailored for children aged 3 to 15. Beginning each day at our log circle, surrounded by the warmth of a fire during colder months, children embark on a journey of hands-on learning. From tending to the needs of our friendly farm animals, including cows, mini horses, donkeys, goats, hens, rabbits, and more, to engaging in homesteading projects like butter making and soap making, our program immerses children in the wonders of farm life. Amidst daily chores, gardening endeavors, and cooking adventures with fresh produce from our garden in warmer months, our students foster a deep connection with nature, learning essential skills while exploring the boundless beauty of The Bluestone Wild Forest that surrounds our property. With a harmonious blend of educational activities and natural exploration, each day at Stony Hollow unfolds organically in sync with the rhythm of the children and nature.
There is so much life on the farm all year long and we look forward to experiencing farm life with your children!
