Sliding Scale Options

At the heart of our work is a wish for all children to be welcome and for every family to feel included. We want our offerings to be accessible to all, while also honoring the care and energy it takes to create and sustain them. One way we’re moving toward this balance is through a sliding scale structure, which allows each family to contribute in a way that feels right for them and supports the wellbeing of the whole community.

A mother in our community kindly shared a guide that really resonated with us. It explains the sliding scale in such a thoughtful and easy-to-follow way that we felt inspired to share it here, too. The chart — generously created by wortsandcunning.com — offers a gentle invitation to reflect on where you might land, while also reminding us how our choices can uplift and support one another. You’ll find the graphic to the left, and we hope it brings clarity and inspiration.

Moving forward you may use the following guidelines when choosing what to pay for the Farm Program for your child/ren:

Top of the Scale (or the left bottle) = High Cost: Supporting clients who cannot comfortably cover the middle cost option
If this is you ---> "I am comfortably able to meet all of my basic* needs"
Do this ---> Please pay the amount on the higher end of the scale stated on our website.

Middle of the Scale (or the middle bottle) = Middle Cost: True cost of services
If this is you ---> "I may stress about meeting my basic needs but still regularly achieve them"
Do this ---> Please pay the amount stated on the website as “the value of the program”.

Bottom of the Scale (or the right bottle) = Low Cost: Supported by families in our community who can comfortably cover the higher cost option
If this is you ---> "I frequently stress about meeting basic needs & don’t always achieve them"
Do this ---> Please pay the amount on the lower end of the scale stated on our website.
